Trainee Opportunity: Project Assistant
Entry - 0-2 years' experience
Contract duration: 6-month placement
Role: 1 day per week, days and hours negotiable although the project assistant’s presence will be required for 10 x consecutive Mondays between 23 May and 25 July 2022
Bursary: £100 per day

Daily Life Ltd. is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with strong organisational skills to join the team for an exciting 6-month placement. This opportunity will particularly appeal to those with an interest in one or more of the following issues: gender equality and women’s rights, mental health, or those facing exclusion due to disability or health.
You will get the chance to work closely with a team of arts professionals on the organisation and delivery of a 10-week professional development course to interpret an acclaimed body of work by the celebrated artist Bobby Baker and a virtual exhibition and related public programme for the national charity Outside In of Bobby Baker’s work. Based remotely and attending meetings at the artist’s studio in North London, where necessary, you will be supported by a team of passionate and committed colleagues.
What you will learn
Gain a close working knowledge of the practice of a professional artist
Gain experience of delivering a 10-week course to interpret a large body of work by the artist Bobby Baker with participation on that course
Participate on the above course gaining knowledge and insight in the handling of collections and skills required to work with them in innovative ways
Learn about how curatorial decisions are made and how a project is managed for the purposes of a virtual exhibition by Bobby Baker and a related public programme of events and talks
Gain experience of the logistics, coordination and planning of the above activities
Gain experience of exhibition and event marketing strategies and methods
Learn about budget management and funding requirements
Learn about project evaluation and reporting for multiple purposes and audiences
Knowledge, skills, experience
Be able to show a demonstratable commitment to and an interest in the project management and coordination of exhibitions and events
Must be disciplined with strong organisational skills
Must enjoy working as part of a team but able to work independently
A confident communicator
Desirable
Experience of communicating and collaborating with a wider team using file sharing platforms such as Dropbox is preferable
