New website

You can now see the first ever digital archive of Daily Life Ltd. and Bobby Baker’s past work, going back to the 1970s. This includes never before seen images of past performances, drawings, installations, collaborative projects and more. In  Who We Are you can read about our new Board.

The website is still growing and, through a new partnership with Unthinkable Digital, we’ll be working to add more resources and make it even more accessible.

Culture Recovery Fund

After a difficult year we are delighted that Daily Life Ltd. has received a grant of £61,944 from the Government’s £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund.

More than £300 million has been awarded to thousands of cultural organisations across the country in the latest round of support from the Culture Recovery Fund.

DLL and Bobby Baker’s art critiques the patriarchy, the undervaluing of care and domestic work, modern psychiatric diagnosis, and long-term structural and systemic inequalities around wellbeing, disability, and mental illness. With covid-19 and the Black Lives Matter movement bringing these issues to mainstream attention, our work has never been more pertinent. We’ll be using our lifeline grant to help support our growing digital offer and to ensure the organisation remains strong for the long-term.

We're are also delighted to announce that R&D for EPIC DOMESTIC during 2021-22 is commissioned and supported by Unlimited, celebrating the work of disabled artists, with funding from Museum of the Home and Arts Council England.

Projects

We’re working on:

· Re-imagining of Baker’s UK-wide tour of Drawing on a (Grand) Mother’s Experience for online audiences later this year.

· R&D for Baker’s EPIC DOMESTIC

· A New Kind of Table (ANKOT) – a partnership with Suzanne Alleyne & Co. and Wunderbar. This is a pioneering, artist-led support programme for creative practitioners who face long-term structural and systemic inequalities and are, and will be, disproportionally affected by covid.
